Oh, forgot about this. Was interested from the day they announced it but CN-language only was a big barrier. I'd definitely like to get it now.

EN TL looks a bit wonky though, not too bad (I've seen actual machine level TL on Steam), so is there any word on Script edits or developer patching?

I must say I am not confident enough to play these kinds of games with those assets.

The character designs appeal to me, but let me show you what doesn't.

This is just an example. ALL of the text is like this. It actually hurts my head to read. I put in for a refund just now. Not supporting translations with quality this low.

Uh, there's nothing wrong with the text there? Everything is grammatically correct. There's no verb tense or subject/conjugation disagreement that I usually see in these games. It all makes sense as to what Mirabeau is contemplating. I've honestly been super impressed with the translation thus far (I just finished act 2).

Gameplay has been pretty good, though some things took a bit of time to adjust. Definitely got a lot more out of it thus far than I thought I would. That "Eugenie's Play" side quest can go to hell though. I couldn't for the life of me find the exact notes that it was playing for the 3rd song. Oh well, at least playing the notes exactly wasn't required to complete it.

Assuming you quoted me with my obvious disdain for the garbage art with this response intentionally?

Very mature.

No one's stopping you from liking your anime titty game but no need to mock me with it.

No, I quoted the screenshot, even deleted your entire message as to dedicate my response to the screenshot only. I can assume that you didn't expand the screenshot-only quote and responded that way. I liked the art in the screenshot, and it interested me in the game more, even if the message is expressed in a meme it is still civil and legit response.

However, I don't understand how responding to the screenshot is "antagonizing" anyone. I would love to hear more rationale how the screenshot showcasing the game characters is being considered as an extension of the user by mods.

It's a fucking mess. How could you even be impressed? This only resembles English. It doesn't flow like anything a person who speaks English natively would string together in any time period. I'm seriously confused by your post, given that you appear to speak the language.

As far as translations for low budget indie games go this is pretty good. And the little french they use is on point. Which is more than i can say for a lot of bigger budget translations

The writing isn't stellar or anything, but i wouldn't blame that solely on the translation.

The French aristocracy spoke in ways very different to common English parlance nowadays.

I mean, just check out these quotes atrributed to.... Mirabeau, the very same person who is being represented in that screenshot. Do these seem like things a modern native English speaker would say?

I saw what you deleted but that doesn't really make any difference. If anything it just felt you dismissed anything I had to say and if you can't work out why quoting someone offended by artwork that objectifies women with a post that essentially said "I want big titties and maids" without any actual attempt at discourse could be seen as anything but inappropriate then we don't really have anything to discuss. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You're exaggerating. The only bit of it that feels particularly awkward is the use of the plural form of remorse. Which isn't grammatically incorrect but certainly feels a little unnatural. "I hope this action won't be one of the many regrets in my life" would only change one word and reads better I think. I don't see the problem with "I hope they can become the Maids of France that'll make the country peaceful and stable..." Maids is clearly the kind of proper noun beloved of genre fiction, even then the sentence flows fine. Is the translation generally shitty? I've no idea but it's a wild exaggeration to say those two lines are a "fucking mess."

I mean, pull quotes from a famous raconteur and orator also probably aren't representative of the natural speech of most people.
