Oldsmar, Florida

oldsmar floridaThe city of Oldsmar sits at the top of Tampa Bay. Oldsmar was conceived by Ransom Eli Olds, inventor and manufacturer of the Oldsmobile, who dreamed of developing a thriving metropolis.

In 1913, R.E. Olds purchased 37,000 acres of land on which he built residential neighborhoods, hotels, golf courses, a thoroughbred horse racing track and factories. He fashioned Oldsmar after Washington, D.C., with tree-lined boulevards leading from the shoreline of Tampa Bay to downtown, resembling the spokes of a wheel.

Today, Oldsmar is experiencing rapid growth as a major business and residential center. Its location is central to Tampa and the Gulf beaches, so residents can experience the best of both locations in just a short drive heading east or west.
